Air curtains – save energy and protect employees
Energy loss at industrial doors? Not necessarily.
In many industrial buildings, doors are often left open for long periods of time. This is part of everyday working life – but it is also a cost factor that is easily underestimated. Open doors cause valuable heat to be lost, especially in the winter months. At the same time, cold air enters the building. The result: heating systems run longer, energy consumption increases – and all of this drives up costs.
The indoor climate is also affected: draughts lead to colds, tension and concentration problems. Employees who work close to the door are particularly affected. Those responsible for working conditions here are familiar with the complaints – often expressed quietly, but noticeable in sick leave.
An air curtain provides a solution here. It creates a directed air flow above the door, separating the indoor and outdoor air. Heat stays inside, cold stays outside. The air curtain acts as an invisible barrier – without disrupting operations. Forklifts, pallet trucks and employees can still pass through the door without any problems. The difference: there are no more draughts. And the indoor climate remains constant.
Why Teddington? Because efficiency must be measurable!
Teddington takes technology one step further. The patented CONVERGO® pressure chamber nozzle system focuses the exhaust air so precisely that the air curtain is significantly more effective than conventional devices. Up to 80% of the heating energy that would otherwise be lost through the door remains in the hall. And it saves around 30% more than a conventional air curtain. This is not theory – it is measurable.
The devices can be used flexibly: as a cold air version or a warm air version with a heat exchanger – depending on what makes sense for your hall. Retrofitting into existing systems is also possible without any problems.
Once installed, the difference is quickly noticeable. Energy costs are reduced, the heating system runs less frequently, and the indoor temperature remains stable – even when the door is open.
A better climate for people and processes.
An air curtain not only protects against energy loss. It also protects your workforce. Where cold air cannot enter, there are fewer sick days. Workstations can be located closer to the door area. Space is used more efficiently and working conditions are more pleasant. And, as an added bonus, team satisfaction increases – without you having to build new rooms or install complex heating systems.
A constant temperature is also important, especially for sensitive production environments. Fluctuations in the indoor climate can be significantly reduced by the air curtain. This protects machines, processes and products – as well as the people who work with them.
That's why you benefit from Teddington air curtains
Energy saving
Air curtain systems contribute significantly to energy cost savings. Expensive heated or cooled air escapes unhindered to the outside through unprotected doors.
Sustainability
Teddington air curtains have maximum efficiency thanks to their patented nozzle system and support you in achieving your sustainability goals.
Employee health
Teddington air curtain systems effectively prevent draughts and cold air at doors, protecting the health of your team and creating a pleasant working environment.
High-quality technology
The Teddington CONVERGO pressure chamber nozzle system offers you patented technology. Energy savings of up to 80% are possible compared to an unprotected door!

Certified quality
Our devices are individually tested before delivery and regularly checked for efficiency and effectiveness by ILK Dresden. That is why we offer a 5-year warranty (except for parts that carry electricity or water and rotating parts).
For new and existing buildings – flexible and future-proof
Whether for new buildings or existing halls, Teddington air curtains adapt to your situation. They can be easily integrated into new projects or retrofitted without any problems. Depending on your requirements, the units are available in recirculation mode or with a heat exchanger – ideal if you also want heated air.
Teddington offers the right design for every door: horizontally or vertically mounted, with different intake options and special solutions for confined spaces – such as sectional doors. Even large door openings are no problem: the devices can be expanded modularly to cover any width and height safely.
The right air curtain for every gate
Every building has different requirements – whether in terms of size, use or structural conditions. That is why Teddington offers a wide range of air curtain models that are precisely tailored to these requirements. From compact units for loading ramps to powerful solutions for large industrial doors: every model impresses with its sophisticated technology, high efficiency and variety of designs and features.
RATIOVENT
The Teddington RATIOVENT is a powerful, low-maintenance air curtain for industrial use, which is characterised by its flexibility and, thanks to its robust construction, is particularly suitable for large door widths.
Blow-out distance: Up to 7 m
Heating: Ambient, LTHW (water), Steam / hot water
INDUVENT
The Induvent is a compact, energy-efficient air curtain for industrial applications that successfully minimises draughts and energy losses and is also suitable for shielding odour emissions, e.g. at recycling centres.
Blow-out distance: Up to 4 m
Heating: Exclusively as a recirculation device without heating
E-SERIES INDUSTRY
The industrial version of the E-series is a compact air curtain for smaller industrial doors. With an adapted heating register and flexible options in terms of length, it can be customised to suit individual requirements.
Blow-out distance: Up to 4,40 m
Heating: Ambient, LTHW (water), Electric, R410a / R32 (VRF)
C-SERIES INDUSTRY
Blow-out distance: Up to 3,30 m
Heating: Ambient, LTHW (water), Electric, R410a / R32 (VRF)
ROBUVENT
The Teddington Robuvent series are robust, energy-efficient industrial air curtains that impress with their flexible installation, reliable performance and high-quality finish, making them versatile all-rounders for a wide range of applications.
Blow-out distance: Up to 6 m
Heating: Available as a recirculation unit and heated with LTHW (water)
FRIGUVENT
The Friguvent was specially developed to create an air barrier for refrigerated and frozen areas. It reduces energy loss and ice formation, relieves the load on cooling units and increases safety in the working environment by improving visibility.
Blow-out distance: Up to 3 m
Heating: Exclusively as a recirculation device without heating
Experience that convinces
Teddington has been developing and manufacturing air curtain systems in-house for over 50 years – quality ‘Made in Germany’. The devices are specially designed for their individual area of application and built in numerous variants depending on requirements. Performance data such as air volumes, discharge velocities and noise emissions are specified in accordance with ISO 27327 and monitored by the Institute for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology (ILK) in Dresden.
Thousands of Teddington systems have been installed worldwide and in a wide range of industries, reliably ensuring energy savings, draught-free conditions and stable climate conditions. Whether in manufacturing, automotive production, rail transport, food production, logistics centres or airports, our devices have proven themselves wherever durable technology, flexible solutions and maximum efficiency are required.
Application example
Air curtains in a production hall with factory traffic
Requirement: In a production hall with several opposing hall doors, air was flowing in at high speed, resulting in significant temperature differences between different areas of the hall and the outside area. This meant that valuable energy was being lost at the doors due to the escaping air.
Solution: The installation of Ratiovent air curtains for industrial doors significantly reduced air acceleration and thus minimised energy loss at the doors. The use of these air curtains does not restrict the delivery and movement of goods in any way. In addition, workplaces near the doors benefited from an improved indoor climate and a significant reduction in draughts.
Application example
Air curtain in the shipping area of the logistics department
Requirement: A logistics company was experiencing disruptive draughts during loading and unloading operations due to the open dock doors. The expensively conditioned indoor air was escaping uncontrollably from the hall.
Solution: Effective shielding was achieved by installing Teddington C-Series Industry air curtains above the doors. This resulted in savings of up to 80% of the thermal energy required to maintain the indoor air temperature. In addition, the draughts were successfully reduced, which significantly improved the working environment in the shipping area.
