The most important functions explained

External release:

The air curtain can be enabled or disabled by the BMS via a volt-free contact.

To overview

Summer / winter mode:

The controller allows the system to switch between summer and winter operation. In summer mode, the connected heating valves are closed and the air curtain operates without heating. In winter mode, the heating valves are enabled and the discharged air can be heated as required.

To overview

Manual / automatic mode:

In manual mode, the air curtain operates independently of external automatic signals such as a door contact. In automatic mode, operation is controlled by external signals.

To overview

Room thermostat and room sensor:

The air curtain can be set to operate depending on the room temperature.

To overview

Operating and fault signal:

The controller provides operating and fault status via volt-free signals. These signals can be processed by the BMS to monitor the air curtain system.

To overview

Weekly timer:

The air curtain switches on and off according to the programmed operating times.

To overview

Run-on function:

A configurable run-on time allows the air curtain to continue operating for a short period after the door closes, reducing frequent switching during repeated door operation.

To overview

Fan speed control via BMS:

In automatic mode, the BMS can specify the air curtain fan speed via a 0–10 V signal or, with TCX, a 4–20 mA signal.

To overview

Expandable with Ethernet module:

The optional TCX Ethernet module allows air curtain functions to be integrated into the BMS via Modbus TCP/IP or BACnet.

To overview

Multi-master function:

One control panel can be used to operate several independently controlled air curtains. This provides a compact control solution for larger entrance areas with multiple air curtain units.

The most important functions explained:

Manual / automatic function:

Manual control of the air curtain (without an external signal such as a door contact) or in automatic mode with external signals.

To overview

Maintenance isolator:

The maintenance isolator on the control cabinet disconnects the power supply to the air curtain and the components inside the cabinet for maintenance or service work.

To overview

Operating and fault signal:

The BMS can pick up and process the potential-free fault/operating signals. In addition, lights on the control cabinet indicate whether the air curtain is in operation or in fault mode.

To overview

External enable / fault reset:

The air curtain can be enabled or disabled via a volt-free contact. Once a fault has been rectified, it can also be reset via a volt-free contact.

To overview

Summer / winter mode:

A switch on the control cabinet can be used to select between summer mode (all connected heating valves are closed) and winter mode (all connected heating valves are open).

To overview

Frost protection:

If the air intake temperature falls below 7 °C, the optional frost protection thermostat switches off the fans and opens the connected valves to protect the heat exchanger against frost damage.

To overview

Fixed base load level:

The air curtain runs at fan speed 1 until the set temperature is reached. An industrial thermostat (optionally available) is required for this function.

To overview

Adjustable base load level:

The air curtain runs at a desired fan speed until the set temperature is reached. An industrial thermostat (optionally available) is required for this function.

To overview

After-run function automatic contact:

An adjustable run-on time reduces frequent switching when the door is opened and closed repeatedly.

To overview

Integrated weekly timer:

The air curtain is switched on and off automatically according to the selected switching times.

To overview

Fault memory:

The integrated fault memory stores the most recent fault messages.

To overview

Speed control from the BMS:

0-10 V signal control of the fans via the BMS in automatic mode.

To overview

Ethernet module (Modbus, BACnet):

The Ethernet module allows the air curtain system to be connected to a BMS via Modbus TCP/IP or BACnet.
