TCX – The intelligent touch control for Air Curtains

With the TCX control system, you can control Teddington Air Curtain systems efficiently, conveniently and flexibly – regardless of whether it is a single system or a complex system with several units. The TCX family stands for intuitive operation, fast configuration and seamless integration into modern building automation systems.

 

Intuitive operation – easy installation

The TCX control system is the result of decades of experience in Air Curtain technology and continuous further development. It offers a modern solution for energy-efficient, convenient and intelligent building entrances – reliable, versatile and state-of-the-art.
As a centralised control unit, the TCX can control up to 64 units in parallel or individually. If required, it can also be operated via a single control panel. This allows a wide range of configurations to be realised. With the optional Ethernet extension, the TCX and TCX-E can be integrated into your building automation system with ModBus and BACnet via TCP/IP.
All controllers in the Teddington TCX family feature a modern touch display and a clearly structured user interface. Settings can be adjusted in real time – temperature, air volume or operating mode can be configured in just a few simple steps. Updates and settings can be uploaded reliably via an integrated micro SD slot.

Networkable and future-proof

With the optional Ethernet extension, the TCX control unit can be easily integrated into the building management system. The common Modbus TCP/IP and BACnet protocols are supported, enabling smooth integration into existing automation systems.

TCX Modbus RTU: Convenient integration and control of the Air Curtain unit via the building management system

Using the Modbus RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) communication protocol, Teddington Air Curtains can be controlled without the additional use of a TCX control panel. The Air Curtain is integrated into the building management system and can be conveniently operated via the BMS. Modbus RTU supports various function codes that define specific actions, such as reading or writing registers or querying status information.
RTU is a serial communication variant that usually runs via RS-485 or RS-232 interfaces. It uses a binary data representation to transfer information between devices. Using write/read commands, the controlled Air Curtain can be operated individually according to customer requirements and the operating parameters can be read out.
Teddington can accept a customised pre-configuration ex works so that all the required parameters (such as the required fan stage or the after-run time of the Air Curtain) are already implemented.
A Teddington TCX control panel and a TCX Ethernet board are not required when using the Modbus RTU configuration. Only a TCX board is required, which provides the Modbus RTU interface.
