Anniversary celebrations: 50 years Teddington
Teddington Luftschleieranlagen celebrated its 50th anniversary on 16 December 2025 with a festive ceremony at its headquarters in Buchholz.
Numerous guests from the worlds of politics, business and science attended the event and praised the company's development into one of Europe's leading suppliers of air curtain systems.
Guests of honour included Daniela Schmitt, Minister for Economic Affairs, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate, Achim Hallerbach, District Administrator of the Neuwied district, Michael Christ, Mayor of the Asbach municipality, Andrea Wedig from the Koblenz Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and Dr. Ralph Krause from the Institute for Air and Refrigeration Technology gGmbH (ILK Dresden). Other representatives from industry and commerce also attended the anniversary celebrations.
Managing Directors Stephan Hennecke and Sven Boerger welcomed the guests and opened the event. A technical highlight was the presentation by Dr. Ralph Krause (ILK Dresden). He presented the development and areas of application of air curtain systems, discussing energy assessment models, mechanisms for energy saving and measurement results from Teddington devices. He also gave an outlook on future research and development potential from the perspective of applied air and refrigeration technology.
Minister Daniela Schmitt, District Administrator Achim Hallerbach and Mayor Michael Christ then addressed the company with words of welcome. The Koblenz Chamber of Industry and Commerce honoured the company's 50th anniversary by presenting an anniversary certificate to Andrea Wedig.
Teddington was founded in December 1975 as an independent manufacturer of door air curtains. Teddington was thus the first company to manufacture door air curtains in Germany. A sales office had already existed since the 1960s as a precursor, including for air curtains. Over the years, the company in Hennef-Bröl continued to develop. An important milestone was the takeover by the Hennecke family in 2003, which was accompanied by a comprehensive reorientation, investments in modern production technology and the targeted further development of products and processes.
Today, Teddington is considered the quality leader in air curtain technology. With its patented pressure chamber nozzle system, the company sets standards in efficiency and energy savings. The systems are used throughout Europe in airports, industrial facilities, commercial enterprises and public buildings, among others, and make an important contribution to reducing heating energy and CO₂ emissions.
The ceremony marking the 50th anniversary combined a review of the company's history with a look to the future, emphasising the importance of innovation, energy efficiency and technical development for the company's future.
