Air curtains for odour control
Air curtains can help reduce the ingress of unpleasant odours into indoor spaces, but they are not a complete odour-control solution. They generate an airflow that acts as an air barrier and minimises air exchange between inside and outside. This makes it more difficult for external odours to enter the building or for odours from inside, for example from waste, traffic-related residues or agricultural processes, to escape outdoors. However, air curtains cannot neutralise odours that are already present inside the room.

Air curtains are used effectively in the waste-management industry to reduce odour emissions from recycling areas. By maintaining an air barrier against the outside environment, they help keep unpleasant odours inside and improve odour control around the building.

Requirement: Odour emissions at recycling centres are a major challenge, especially in densely populated areas.
Solution: nstead of installing a space-consuming and cost-intensive airlock, a TÜV-certified Teddington air curtain from the Induvent Series was installed at the doors of the recycling centre. This air curtain has demonstrated its effectiveness through TÜV certification and offers operators a compact, efficient alternative to a conventional airlock.
